At the cliff house, Steffy is on the phone with 9-1-1. She tells them that an intruder broke into her home. When she attacked her, she stabbed her with a knife. “I think she could be dead. Could you please hurry?!” Suddenly, the lights come on. Steffy turns to look at Sheila’s lifeless body with horror.

In Finn’s office, he looks up as Hope returns. She left her cellphone. Finn says he’s just wrapping up and wants to get home to his wife. “I’m worried about Steffy.” He tells Hope about the power outage. Hope finds it sweet that he’s concerned. Finn says Steffy is everything to him.

At Il Giardino, Deacon challenges Liam to deny this is the best pizza he ever had. Liam says he had better in Italy. He’s just glad he didn’t have to order takeout because Sheila’s not working. Deacon mutters that they’ve established she’s not his favorite person. Liam doesn’t think she’s anyone’s favorite person, other than Deacon’s. He’s concerned about her disappearance. Deacon thinks she’ll turn up. Liam is concerned with where she’ll turn up. If it’s near Steffy, God knows what could happen.

Deacon wants Liam to cut Sheila a little bit of slack. Not everything she does is nefarious. Liam reminds him that by his own admission she’s been sneaking out. If that’s not a red flag, he doesn’t know what is. He reminds him that Sheila shot Finn and Steffy and left them for dead. Is Steffy supposed to forgive and forget? He can’t. They’re going to get Sheila out of their lives once and for all. Deacon’s sure Sheila’s not going anywhere. Liam can’t understand him choosing his feelings for the madwoman over Hope and the kids. “You’re stuck. You’re stuck with Sheila. You can’t pry yourself away from Sheila.” Deacon doesn’t want to lose his connection with Hope and his grandkids, “I love them.” Liam states that the problem is loving Sheila too.

At the cliff house, the paramedics say Sheila has a faint pulse. The police arrive and spot the bloody knife. They question Steffy as to what happened and if she knows the woman on the floor. Steffy says, “Yes, her name is Sheila. Sheila Carter.”

In Finn’s office, he tells Hope that he’d leave now, but he’s waiting on test results. Hope is sure they’ll arrive any minute. He finds her optimism refreshing. Talk turns to Sheila. Finn is concerned because things turned physical with her and Steffy. It scares him. He loves that Steffy continues to fight for them and hasn’t called it quits. Hope knows Steffy loves him too much. Finn feels like his wife needs him right now.

At the cliff house, Steffy tells the police that Sheila has a long list of crimes, especially against her and her family. The paramedics declare that Sheila has bled out. “Time of death, 8:07.” Steffy gasps, “Death. Oh my God, Sheila’s dead.”

At Il Giardino, Liam marvels at Deacon being in love with Sheila Carter. Deacon questions how you explain it to someone, when you can’t explain it to yourself. Liam thinks that should tell him something. Deacon tried to distance himself from her, but then gets drawn back in. They’re alike and trying to build something good and normal despite their paths. Liam tells Deacon he’s not giving himself enough credit. The mistakes he’s made don’t compare to Sheila’s heinous crimes. Hope cares about him deeply and he’s letting this thing with Sheila jeopardize that. The only way they’ll ever have peace is if Sheila’s out of their lives once and for all.

In Finn’s office, Hope sends a text as Finn gets his test results and then shrugs his coat on. He reiterates that his loyalty is to Steffy, not Sheila. Hope remarks that Steffy said she’d only feel safe if Sheila was dead. Finn has to get home to Steffy. If she needs him, he’s going to be there for her.

At the cliff house, photos are snapped of the death scene, Sheila’s dead body, and the knife. The police take the paramedics statements and mention the coroner is on route to take possession of the body. Steffy watches as Sheila’s body is covered in a sheet. The police question her again about the break-in. Steffy insists she acted in self-defense.

Steffy breathes in a panicked way as the police bag up the knife as evidence and talk. The officer asks to go through this again. Steffy explains the power going out, and seeing the shadow on the wall. She told Sheila to get out, but she kept coming closer and closer. “She lunged at me. I defended myself.” She shares that the deceased tried to kill her and her husband, her own son, in the past. The police warn Steffy not to leave town; the detectives will follow-up with further questions.

At Il Giardino, Liam tells Deacon that Sheila will only drag him down and force him to forfeit his future with Hope and the kids. That reason alone should make Sheila dead to him. Deacon says he loves Sheila, and is going to have a long, happy life with her.

At the cliff house, Steffy stares at the huge blood stain on the floor. She pictures Sheila’s body laying there, and then flashes to their argument at Deacon’s place. As she’s looking like she’s going to vomit, Finn rushes in. He saw the police driving away and hollers, “Are you OK?! What happened?” He keeps asking what’s going on. Steffy finally says, “It was dark. Someone came in.” She flashes through the confrontation in her mind, and then tells Finn, “It was Sheila.” Finn asks where Sheila is now. “Where’s Sheila?” Steffy flashes to Sheila’s dead body and wears a horrified expression.
