It’s taken some time, a little drug drama and some detours into The Pawn, but Days of Our Lives‘ Theresa and Konstantin have finally seemed to remember their cons and the fact that Alex is not Victor’s true heir. Right now, Xander just hates Konstantin because he’s certain the man’s here to swindle Kiriakis money, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Because he and Theresa were also responsible for denying Xander his birthright!

But don’t expect him to find out the truth just yet. Konstantin, we’re pretty sure, isn’t done with John. And while Xander tried briefly to get through to Sarah in Monday’s show (you can read the full recap here) about his Greek nemesis, he’s got his own hands full clearing his name in Harris’ shooting. And that’s got his own frustrations since we all know that Stefan actually shot him — and Harris knows too!

Outside of Sarah, Xander isn’t sure who to trust these days, which makes it such a shame he can’t turn to anyone in his family like, say, a father for some advice. Luckily, Paul Telfer can! The actor is off visiting his dad, bonding over Xander’s misadventures. So he figured it might be worth getting dad’s opinion on Konstantin on video and sharing it with the world! God knows we need more people seeing through the conman’s facade — since half of Salem’s buying it…

“Xander (like most untrustworthy people…) has trust issues,” Telfer wrote on Twitter/X, “especially when it comes to Konstantin.”

OK, hold up. Before we go any further — we know the actor is very much aware of Xander’s flaws, but we’ve got to stick up for the poor guy! Hiss trust issues aren’t all from him being untrustworthy! Heck, he doesn’t know it yet, but his own father knowingly lied to him his entire life and treated him like dirt!

Plus, he’s got good reason to not trust Konstantin, from his criminal past to the fact that Xander is right! He nailed it right on the head when he told Sarah that Kon had come to town to con Maggie of her money! And somehow, Maggie and Sarah have been missing every last flashing red alarm about Konstantin — including, most recently, Maggie realizing he lied about being Victor’s friend!

But, anyway, we digress. Because as Telfer pointed out, his dad has trust issues when it comes to Konstantin as well. Check out his wonderfully Scottish reaction below to the “Bad ‘un.”

And as Emily O’Brien (Theresa/Gwen) replied, “This is dad?! So charming to see him watching you!”

Yes, yes it is! But now we just feel even worse for poor Xander. If only he had this kind of support in his life instead of… well, we never met his fake dad and we know how his real one treated him. Things might have turned out so differently. Still, while it may take some time yet (like when the temporary writers exit around the start of summer), we have a feeling things are going to work out pretty well for him.

And with a daughter of his own, as he just told Harris on today’s episode, he’s more determined than ever to actually be a good person for once! And if he ever starts to slip up, maybe Telfer can lend him his own dad for a little extra support.
