So far, Sloan’s done a pretty decent job at keeping (almost) everyone in the dark on Days of Our Lives that she’s got Nicole’s baby. But there’s only so long she can keep this up. Secrets never stay buried in Salem — but that’s never stopped anyone from trying to keep them.

But at the end of last week, Eric discovered that the rent was past due, and now spoilers have him confronting Sloan tomorrow, on Wednesday, April 10. And he wants to know exactly what’s going on with their money!

The problem with that? It’s all getting siphoned to Jude’s “godfather,” Leo, as he blackmails Sloan to keep his mouth shut about the baby theft. If, after all this time, not paying rent brings Sloan down, we guess she’s in good company. After all, that’s how the feds finally got Al Capone — for not paying taxes!

At Sloan's, Eric reaches for a leather bound journal.

But is this really going to take Sloan down? She’s evaded every other pitfall that’s come her way so far. Surely, she’ll come up with some sort of excuse. Maybe she’ll say she hadn’t realized how expensive baby needs are. Maybe she’ll claim she’s trying to chase down a client or two who have refused to pay their bills. Hell, maybe she’ll claim she got carried away squirreling away money for Jude’s college education.

The point is, out of the two of them, Eric is definitely the one with baby brain, and so long as he doesn’t demand evidence for whatever she’s claiming right away, we’re sure between her and Melinda, they’ll be able to account for the money somewhere. (And maybe it’ll give Sloan the leverage she needs for Leo to lower his blackmail rate. She can’t pay if she’s caught!)

Sloan stares at Eric with creased forehead and open mouth.

But baby brain or not, this could be the beginning of the end for Eric. Between Sloan acting weird, Leo’s not so subtle hints dropped left and right, not to mention all the oddities surrounding the adoption, he’s got to start wondering if there’s something more going on. What that is may not be apparent right away, but there’s only so much that can build up before Eric starts putting the pieces together.

Right now, Sloan may just have to pay the landlord, but soon enough, she may be paying the piper. And all the money in the world won’t be able to save her then.
