General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that fans will have to get used to yet another new face in the role of Molly Lansing-Davis now that Brooke Anne Smith has made her debut as a recast. In the July 19 episode, a voiceover announcement confirmed that the part is now being played by Smith.
Of course, we should recap all the drama that resulted in this recast.
Haley Pullos (ex-Molly Lansing-Davis) was arrested over a serious DUI crash, so that led to her being temporarily replaced by Holiday Mia Kriegel back in May.
Although Kriegel worked well enough as a temp recast, she was just someone that the show was able to use on short notice.
It seems they wanted to take a little longer to search for a more permanent Molly replacement – and that replacement is Brooke Anne Smith.
The announcer certainly didn’t mention anything about this being a temporary gig since Smith was said to now be playing the role.
This doesn’t come as a surprise considering all the legal problems that Haley Pullos is now facing.
At this point, it’s probably safe to say that Pullos is finished at GH since the show’s moving forward with Smith and seemingly making the news official.
On top of all the Molly changes, fans have also had to adjust to a Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) recast.
Mansi took over the role from Lexi Ainsworth in May as well, so there have definitely been a lot of shifts happening behind-the-scenes that affect the Davis girls.
That’s made it difficult for some viewers to get on board with the surrogacy storyline that’s starting to heat up, but maybe it’ll be easier with time.
Brooke Anne Smith doesn’t immediately give off the usual Molly vibes, but she deserves a chance to give the role a new spin and hopefully make it her own.
Regardless, it doesn’t look like Haley Pullos will be back as Molly, so her time in Port Charles appears to have wrapped up for good.
General Hospital spoilers say Molly and Kristina have plenty of issues to work through in the coming episodes, so stay tuned for updates on that and any other big casting news.
