General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the show has a chance to change course and end a pairing that just isn’t working. GH writers have been trying to put Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) together for years, but they’ve definitely struggled to find their footing as a pairing.
Liz and Finn arguably don’t seem very popular on social media either. There’s just not a lot of heat or excitement going on in this relationship, so maybe the show should shift gears and pair Elizabeth up with a better option.
Although Liz has promised to be there for Finn as he deals with Gregory Chase’s (Gregory Harrison) ALS struggles, that doesn’t mean she’ll get the opportunity. If Finn pushes Elizabeth away when things get too hard, it might be the start of them drifting apart.
That brings us to Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), who’s currently staying with Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and will make a big Port Charles comeback eventually.
Nikolas has a rich history with Elizabeth and would be an interesting pairing possibility for her since he’s such a drama magnet. That’s exactly the formula you’re looking for when you’re trying to build a successful soap romance.
Naturally, there’ll be some tension for Liz and Nikolas to work through since she turned him into the cops for holding Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) hostage, but that’s a minor issue in the grand scheme of things.
Nikolas will also have to wiggle off the hook on criminal charges, but we have faith that this twisted Cassadine can make big things happen! That includes reigniting his romance with Elizabeth if Nikolas chooses to pursue her.
Nikolas and Liz might be a rather controversial duo for some people in PC, especially considering how he dragged her into the captivity chaos and how she ratted him out later.
Nevertheless, Liz and Nikolas could also become a new powercouple that rises up for a reunion and some new storylines.
Plenty of viewers are rooting for Finn and Elizabeth to break up at this point, so maybe Nikolas’ return will be the catalyst for that.
