General Hospital Recap: Friday, March 1 – Sonny’s Crasher Upsets Selina, Ava Insists On Joining Mob Meeting

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, March 1, reveals that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) gave Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) another reminder about letting his vendetta go, so Drew seemed grateful to focus on the important things – like Scout Cain’s (Cosette Abinante) birthday party since everyone was coming over to celebrate.

Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) brought the birthday girl to the Quartermaine mansion, so Scout hugged Drew and gushed over all the balloons out front.

Sam also noticed that Drew seemed more relaxed, so she pointed that out to Carly and got confirmation that he was working past his time in Pentonville.

Once Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) showed up with gifts, she spoke to Drew alone about Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) taking over as publisher of The Invader.

Drew explained why he fired Nina and warned that Alexis should watch her back since Nina was capable of anything.

Next on Friday’s GH episode, Sam cornered Drew alone to ask if he’d talk to Danny Morgan (Asher Jared Antonyzyn) and help him since he was going through more than just the typical teenage stuff.

Drew suggested he could take Danny to a game and spend some time with him, so Sam hugged him in gratitude.

Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) showed up, so they mingled with most of the other adults while the younger kids played in the stables.

Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) brought Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and introduced her as her girlfriend, so that brought some surprised yet pleased reactions from the group.

Danny and Jake Webber (Hudson West) both got a bit starstruck over Blaze before they ended up outside.

Jake came looking for Danny and got suspicious over how weird he was acting, especially since there was a sweet smell in the air.

After Jake found Danny’s vape pen, he scolded him for using it.

Jake said he wouldn’t rat Danny out, but that wasn’t good enough for Danny – who threatened to forcibly take it back.

A physical fight broke out with lots of shouting, so Willow questioned the brothers over the commotion.

Jake slipped Danny’s vape pen in his back pocket, but they convinced Willow they were just messing around before joining the others for cake and family photos.

Back with Michael, he told Carly about the connection between the threat against Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Olivia Jerome’s (Tonja Walker) demise.

Carly already knew due to her encounter with John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) and found out Michael had met him, too.

Michael also admitted that he told Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) to bring Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) back to Port Charles, so Carly wasn’t happy about that since Joss would be devastated if something happened to him.

Carly warned Sonny wouldn’t react well to Michael and Dex going behind his back again, but Michael didn’t care since he was putting Sonny’s safety first.

At one point, Kristina walked in on the conversation and seemed suspicious over what was happening with Sonny, but Michael tried to cover up his concerns.

Meanwhile, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) came clean to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) about recruiting Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) for her scheme and was quickly forgiven for trying to help her daughter.

Maxie insisted it was different with Spinelli since he wasn’t her parent and knew all the lies she’d dealt with in some of her previous romances.

Felicia clearly thought Maxie was being too hard on Spinelli, but Maxie argued that they meddled with her heart in addition to her finances.

However, Felicia didn’t think Spinelli’s move-in was the reason Maxie fell for him again.

In fact, Felicia felt that Maxie and Spinelli had always been a little bit in love with each other – even when they were with other people.

Felicia said Maxie just had to decide whether this chance at happiness was worth the risk, so Maxie ultimately left Spinelli a voicemail in hopes that they could talk.

At GH, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) said there was an assault victim who was nearly taken out permanently on the pier, but the cops showed up and stopped the attacker.

Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zampogna) recognized the badly beaten victim as one of Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) bodyguards, so he got Chase to help him question Li (Samuel Wang) in his hospital bed.

Li’s attacker was in lockup and had been identified as someone else within Selina’s organization, so Dante knew Li’s boss must’ve given the order.

Although Li wasn’t interested in talking at first, Dante figured he’d be in an unmarked grave by morning if he didn’t.

At Sonny’s place, he allowed Spinelli to speak freely in front of Ava Jerome (Maura West), who found out they were all set for a faux bridge-building summit that would be under Spinelli’s surveillance.

Sonny explained that his goal was to lure out the mystery gunman and grab him so that he’d lead them to the person in charge.

Ava insisted on going to the meeting and suggested that her connection to the Jerome family would give this summit legitimacy.

Sonny wasn’t thrilled about the idea at first, but Ava convinced him that she was at the center of his small circle of trust.

After John barged in Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) office and demanded her help getting Sonny out of his life for good, she made it clear that John couldn’t give her orders.

Anna and John wound up apologizing to each other for some of their recent missteps, so they agreed they wanted to find a way to work together.

John still had issues with Anna’s view of Sonny, but Anna suggested that John had to look beyond the criminal and see all of Sonny if he ever wanted to take him down someday.

Once Dante arrived with Chase, he revealed that Sonny and Selina were making moves.

Dante explained all the info that he’d acquired from Li, so Anna and John found out about the trap to smoke out the assassin.

John, Anna, Chase and Dante all rushed out the door to stop what Selina and Sonny had set in motion.

At the warehouse for the fake summit, Selina balked at Ava’s presence and thought it was too risky to have her play mediator.

Sonny defended the decision to bring Ava and explained why it’d make the meeting seem more legit.

Since everything was already good to go, Sonny pushed Selina to let this play out so they could smoke out their enemy as planned.

General Hospital spoilers say Sonny and Selina’s setup will come with some curveballs, so stay tuned for updates on all the shocking news that’s still in store.
