We have a baaad feeling that General Hospital may have given Dex an expiration date.
Though Anna decided not to use the information that Sonny’s henchman gave her, he did rat out the don to the authorities. What’s more, he told the police commissioner that if she ever decided to lower the boom on the smooth criminal, she could count on his cooperation. If the “good” mobster finds out, not even Carly could save Dex.
Storyline-wise, it would make for a good, tragic ending to Evan Hofer’s character. He’d die trying to bring down the racketeer whose order to kill Cyrus stuck a fork in his relationship with girlfriend Josslyn. Only then, when it was too late, would she realize that, of course, if Sonny took out a hit on someone, Dex would have had no choice but to do what he was told!
Plus, with Jason back in action, it’s only a matter of time before he reclaims his role of Sonny’s right-hand man and Port Charles’ premier black-T-shirt model. Where would that leave Dex? Nowheresville, that’s where.
Mind you, we’re hoping that the show’s plans for Dex are not a grave matter. In fact, we already have our eye on a new love interest for the character. And his mentions of his family have us keenly interested in meeting them. On top of that, whether or not Carly gets through to Josslyn, somehow justifying hooking up with hitmen, the couple could be forced to elope so as to keep her from being forced to testify to what Dex told her.
