General Hospital Recap Wednesday, April 17 Sonny Steps Closer to Pentonville as Betrayal Count Rises

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, April 17, reveals that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) opened up to Hamilton-Finn (Michael Easton) about her desire to be an attorney again and about the appeal that could lead to her law license being reinstated.

Alexis acknowledged the potential for drinking again and knew she had to be diligent about meetings.

Finn also confided in Alexis about his rapidly deteriorating dad and how he felt like he only had months to make up for years of pushing Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) away.

It was clear that Finn had a lot of regrets, but Alexis and Finn vowed to be there for each other during the difficult next chapter ahead.

At Finn’s place, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) brought Jake Webber (Hudson West) and Aiden Webber (Enzo de Angelis) over, which gave her a chance to talk to Gregory while the boys were in the kitchen.

Liz knew there was a period of time when Finn rejected Gregory, so she hoped for some insights that could help Jake since he was so angry with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

Gregory reflected on the journey of his relationship with Finn and suggested Jake should be allowed to feel his anger before hopefully working through it in time.

Once Finn came home, he joined Elizabeth, Gregory, Jake, Aiden and Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) as they all prepared for a meal together.

Next on Wednesday’s GH episode, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) made a special meal for Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) as well and dialed up the romance at his apartment.

Although Chase offered to sign the prenup now that he’d thought it over, Brook Lynn didn’t want him to.

Instead, Chase and Brook Lynn discussed how their joint finances would affect their family moving forward.

Brook Lynn reflected on how Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) basically shielded her from being too spoiled by Quartermaine cash growing up.

Both Brook Lynn and Chase expressed their desire for a normal life for their children, so they made some plans regarding how their future kids would be raised.

In Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) office, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) popped in and made it clear that she’d woken up about what Sonny was capable of.

If Anna had ever been inclined to go easy on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) because of his friendship with the mayor, Laura insisted she shouldn’t.

Laura also admitted she would’ve wanted the PCPD to prosecute any other criminal who attacked Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

Since Laura no longer believed Sonny deserved a pass, she confirmed that Anna was prepared to move forward if given the opportunity to pursue this case.

Afterward, Laura summoned Cyrus for a conversation and said he was looking well, so he joked about his latest GH visit being like a spa trip.

Laura wasn’t keen on joking about that and suggested that if she’d influenced Cyrus’ decision not to press charges against Sonny, she didn’t want to be the one standing in the way.

Cyrus talked about Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) hooking him up with a radio show to keep him quiet, but he’d decided to bring that radio show to an end.

It was better for Cyrus to work on himself before trying to lead a flock.

As for his history with Sonny, Cyrus acted appalled over it.

Cyrus also confessed to provoking Sonny at the church, but Laura seemed to think some time behind bars was warranted for Sonny.

However, Laura couldn’t tell Cyrus what to do when he sought advice.

Only Cyrus could decide whether he wanted to press charges, so he marveled over controlling Sonny’s fate the one time he didn’t ask to.

Back with Anna, she got a visit from Detective Bennett (Kendrick Cross), who basically said Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) was an ideal recruit that the police academy would normally snatch right up.

That said, Detective Bennett thought maybe they should pass this time since Dex was trying to make up for working with Sonny and approaching this career with the wrong intentions.

Based on Detective Bennett’s prediction, that could lead to trouble.

Detective Bennett had seen guys like Dex rush into risky situations with something to prove and not come out of them, so Anna seemed to appreciate Bennett’s candor.

General Hospital spoilers say Anna will get the final call when it comes to Dex’s PCPD job, so stay tuned for updates on the official news she’ll ultimately give him.
