General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that if everything goes well with the rest of Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) tests and training, then he’ll be on the road to officially becoming a police officer at the PCPD. Dex wants to protect and serve as a way to move beyond his shady past working for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), but that could be a mistake.

Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is worried about Dex becoming even more of a target due to his latest career decision.

It could certainly rile Sonny up and make him more tempted to make a fatal move against Dex.

However, we have to acknowledge the fact that this job is pretty dangerous already!

Dex could join a long list of GH character who have lost their lives serving on the force in Port Charles.

Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) and so many other cops over their years have found themselves six feet under.

Could Dex be next in line for a fatal cop exit?

It’s possible the writers want to give Dex a more heroic departure instead of such a rotten one where he ends up deceased in the Pine Barrens.

Dex could go out in a blaze of glory instead and perhaps save some lives in the process.

Regardless, some characters get lucky and escape the cop curse on this show, but others don’t fare as well.

It’s worth mentioning that Detective Bennett (Kendrick Cross) has a bad feeling about hiring Dex considering his motives.

In the April 17 episode, Detective Bennett tells Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) that doing penance is the wrong motivation becoming a cop.

“Look, when there’s a guy with a gun holed up somewhere, the cops who have something to atone for are the ones who run in too soon, too fast.

A lot of times they don’t come out,” Bennett admits.

In other words, Detective Bennett is offering a rather grim prediction about Dex’s future if he’s allowed to join the force like Anna’s pushing for.

Of course, it’s possible that Bennett is misjudging Dex and will be proven wrong, but his hint could also build to that exact situation – a case where Dex rushes into danger and doesn’t make it out alive.
