General Hospital Tuesday, May 7 Recap: Sonny & Dex’s Ominous Encounter, Drew Leaves Nina Over the Moon

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 7, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) glared at Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) before heading over to another table at the Metro Court.

Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was sitting with Nina and asked if she was OK, so she admitted she was – though she wasn’t so sure the same could be said for Sonny.

Sonny wound up having a meeting with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) about making a donation to the city of Port Charles while Nina gave Valentin vague updates on her quid pro quo with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

At the bar nearby, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) formally accepted the offer to be the New Tomorrow Institute’s spokesperson.

Drew made sure Willow didn’t feel pressured and was ecstatic over the news since she was a perfect fit.

Nina eventually came over under the guise of needing to speak with Drew about something for Crimson, so Willow told Nina about her new spokesperson position becoming official.

Nina was thrilled when Drew pitched the idea of Crimson doing a story on Willow and the New Tomorrow Institute, which Willow was on board with.

Once Nina returned to Valentin, she filled him in on the interview and said she could put up with Drew forever if it meant getting closer to Willow.

After Sonny let Drew know that he was going to hang onto his boxing gym, he wished Drew luck with his fitness and wellness project at Aurora.

Drew also spoke with Jordan about the funding he secured from Congressman McConkey (Sam McMurray) and left her curious about how he made that happen.

Next, Detective Calvin Bennett (Kendrick Cross) brought over some police academy recruits to help Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) move into her new apartment.

Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) also stopped by and grew concerned over Valentin’s flower delivery since the card hinted about a dinner invitation that Anna accepted.

Anna flashed back to a conversation with Drew about Valentin’s deception and made it clear that she didn’t trust her former flame.

That said, Anna did miss Valentin and felt that he understood her on a different level than most people.

Felicia worried that what happened with Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) would always be an issue, but Anna acted like she needed to have a real discussion about that with Valentin and get some closure.

At Pentonville, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) brought Heather Webber (Alley Mills) a photo of Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) and told her a cute story about him.

Heather eventually reflected on all the lives she’d taken, but now she couldn’t figure out why she thought her actions would help Esme Prince (Avery Pohl).

Laura felt like Heather was seeing the situation clearly without the illness that the cobalt poisoning had caused.

Heather wondered whether she might’ve been a good mother if she hadn’t had that hip replacement, but Laura suggested there was no way to answer that.

However, Laura thought it was good that Heather was facing the reality of her past and promised to give Ace the best life possible.

Over with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), she found Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) at the coffee warehouse and admitted Sonny was in trouble.

Carly explained her confrontation with Sonny and how he seemed to be taking his prescriptions when she checked the bottles.

That said, Carly felt like Sonny needed to get his blood tested so that his meds could be adjusted.

Jason wondered if there was anyone Sonny trusted who could convince him, so Carly ranted about trusting Ava when she previously switched Morgan Corinthos’ (Bryan Craig) meds for placebos.

Jason asked if Carly thought that was happening now as well, but Carly doubted it since she didn’t see what good the med tampering would do Ava.

Carly reflected on all the changes in Sonny since Nixon Falls and considered the possibility that his bipolar disorder wasn’t to blame.

Jason and Carly eventually settled on Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) as someone who might convince Sonny to get his blood tested for med adjustments – though Stella would need to witness Sonny’s behavior firsthand before she did.

John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) interrupted on official FBI business, so Carly started to leave before deciding to hang around to eavesdrop.

After John brought up Pikeman and Jack Brennan’s (Charles Mesure) involvement, he pointed to an ongoing link between Sonny and the organization.

As Tuesday’s GH episode wrapped up, Sonny and Dex traded dirty looks as the latter ran by during police academy training.

General Hospital spoilers say Sonny could move forward with a Dex takedown mission eventually, so stick with us for predictions on his potential revenge.
