LPBW: Could Baby Number Four Be A Little Person?

The biggest question Little People Big World fans have about Jeremy and Audrey’s baby on the way is whether or not the baby girl will be a little person.

Matt and Amy Roloff are both little people, but only Zach has achondroplasia. Three out of four of Amy and Matt’s kids don’t have the condition. On the other side of that, all three of Tori and Zach Roloff’s kids have the condition even though Tori doesn’t have it.

Another example to throw into the mix is Liz Johnston from 7 Little Johnstons. She has achondroplasia, along with both of her parents, Trent and Amber Johnston. Liz just welcomed a baby girl with Brice Bolden, who is of average height. Their daughter, Leighton Bolden, is also of average height.

So far, all three of Jeremy and Audrey’s children don’t have achondroplasia and are not little people. Little People Big World fans still wonder if this fourth baby could have it, especially as she gets closer to making her official debut.

Little People Big World: What Are The Odds Of Children Having Achondroplasia?

If both parents have achondroplasia, there is a 50 percent chance that the child will also. If only one parent has achondroplasia, there is still a 50 percent chance that their child will also have the condition. So, it’s a coin flip either way.

According to The Tech Interactive: “The most common type of dwarfism is dominant. To end up with this type, you usually have to have a parent with dwarfism. If your dad has this type of dwarfism and you are average height, your kids can’t get his dwarfism from you. It is not in your DNA.”

There is also a rarer, recessive type of dwarfism that can be passed down, but those odds are even slimmer. Little People Big World fans won’t know for sure if Jeremy and Audrey’s baby has the condition until she arrives officially, but, considering all three of their other children don’t have the condition, Jeremy doesn’t have it, and his wife Audrey doesn’t have it, the odds are good that baby number four for them will be of average height like their other children.

There’s always a chance that baby number four could end up with it, as this can never be completely ruled out, but fans won’t know for sure until she is born.
