The Young and the Restless Recap: Thursday, February 29 – Jordan Reels Over Claire’s Hospital Exit – Kyle’s Nanny Crisis

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, February 29, reveals that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will show up in Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) office and admit she’s not fighting him on his plan anymore.

Victoria will credit Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) with convincing her to trust her daughter’s instincts, so Victor will be glad that she’s come around.

However, Victor will also feel like Victoria’s questioning every move he makes lately, so he’ll wonder if this is because he promoted Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Victoria will stand by the decision she made to walk away for Claire’s sake and will insist that her frustrations aren’t about work at all.

If that’s the case, Victor will act like the conflict should be resolved since he promised to keep Claire safe and intends to keep that promise.

Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will stop by with updates on Claire’s early release being approved by the judge provided that she follows the rules.

Victoria will have conditions – like Claire being protected no matter what and will push for Claire to move in her house.

That won’t work for Victor, who’ll insist both Victoria and Claire should come live at the ranch since he can offer the proper security there.

After Victoria relents, she’ll join Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) at the psych ward, where they’ll give Claire the news that she’s being released and can come home right away.

Claire will wonder where home is exactly, so Victoria will admit she wanted her daughter to move in with her.

Since Victor insisted on Claire moving into the ranch instead, that’s where they’ll be headed.

Claire will admit she used to dream about living in the Newman ranch as a little girl and that her throat would get sore from trying not to cry.

It wasn’t something Claire ever thought would happen, but Victoria will assure her that she’s coming to live there as a Newman who’ll be loved and cared for.

Once Cole and Victoria take Claire to the ranch, she’ll marvel over it and will get a hug from Victoria. This will just be the next step on Claire’s journey, but Victoria will still welcome her home.

At The Empty Glass, Jordan (Colleen Zenk) will get irritated when Seth (Brian Gaskill) doesn’t text her back about Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Later, Jordan will call the psych ward and pose as Nikki when she asks to speak with Claire. When Jordan finds out Claire’s been released, she’ll struggle to understand since it happened so soon.

Back in Victor’s office, he’ll talk to Michael about the statement they’ll give the press about Claire’s miraculous return and the photo they’ll take of her entering Victoria’s home. That way, it’ll look like Claire lives there.

Victor will also discuss his message to make Jordan think he wants to meet regarding Eve Howard (Margaret Mason), but he’ll hint about Jordan facing the surprise of her life.

Michael will worry since there are so many moving parts to this plan, so he’ll ask if Victor’s sure about all this.

Victor will wonder if Michael’s ever known him to do things without thinking them through and will add that he plays chess. That’s why Victor is always a few steps ahead!

At Chancellor-Winters, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will tell Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) that he has to go out of town for a couple days to support Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), who needs to be with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) as he deals with some new challenges.

Devon will understand and support the idea, but he’ll be taken aback when Billy pushes for certain provisions while he’s gone. Billy will want Devon to keep Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) in the loop, which could give Chance an opportunity to step up a bit more.

Devon won’t think Chance is the right guy since he’s brand-new at the company, but he’ll respect Billy’s wishes.

At Society, Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) will chat with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) briefly before walking in on Devon and Billy’s office tension.

After Billy exits, Devon will fill Abby in on Billy’s trip with Chelsea and his request regarding Chance.

Devon will suspect this is about Billy having a fly on the wall or else it’s just a power flex.

That said, Devon will basically be glad for the Billy break since things have been so difficult with him at the office.

Abby will want to help Devon relax and will share some lovey-dovey moments with him on Thursday’s Y&R episode.

At Crimson Lights, Adam will show up expecting to drive to Minnesota with Chelsea, so he won’t be happy about Billy driving her and intruding on their parental duties.

Billy will act like they all have to come together and do what’s best for Connor, so Adam will be insulted and suggest that Billy’s trying to tell him how to parent his son.

As Adam and Billy’s conflict escalates, Chelsea will warn that they should both stay home if they can’t control themselves.

At Society again, Mariah will sense that Kyle isn’t happy at Jabot, so he’ll admit he wants to steal Diane Jenkins-Abbott’s (Susan Walters) job out from under her.

Kyle will quickly backtrack and act like it’s not quite that serious, but he’ll indeed be struggling to accept Diane despite pushing her into the co-CEO role.

Mariah will talk about the rough year Kyle’s had and push him to own his choices, so she’ll give him some tough love and urge him to embrace a new beginning.

At home later, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will mention that Harrison Abbott’s (Kellen Enriquez) nanny, Linda, had to leave town suddenly to be with her sick mother.

Since it’s probably going to be an extended trip, Kyle will release Harrison’s going to need a new nanny.

Traci will bring up the fact that Harrison said he’s been missing Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) living at the house, so Kyle will hate that it’s all so confusing for the kid.

Nevertheless, Traci will give Kyle a pep talk about all the love surrounding Harrison and assure him that he’s a great father.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle will try to make Harrison a priority as he continues to navigate the drama at work, so stay tuned.
