The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) long-lost daughter storyline has given her character some interesting layers and a much softer side. It didn’t take Victoria long to realize she needed to put Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) first – and that meant stepping down from her role at Newman Enterprises.

Since Victoria was previously such a power-hungry workaholic, it was a smart writing decision to have Victoria walk away from the company and focus solely on Claire.

That allowed Y&R to devote more of Victoria’s airtime to Claire’s recovery – and more importantly, it proved Claire was truly Victoria’s priority.

When Victoria sacrificed her spot at Newman, it said a lot about Claire coming first in her life.

Of course, that set the stage for Victoria to become gentler and more loving than fans had seen in a long time.

It’s been nice to watch Victoria and Claire’s relationship bloom, but things could change now that the show’s firmly established that bond.

Since Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) doesn’t trust Claire, that could light the match for a new round of family drama.

Victoria wasn’t happy about Adam voicing suspicions and hurling accusations about Claire’s potential lingering alliance with Jordan (Colleen Zenk).

It’s clear that Victoria is quite protective of Claire, so Adam is pushing the wrong buttons and may pay the price!

Now that Claire is free and on the right track in her recovery, Victoria may eventually decide she’s ready to head back to Newman Enterprises.

That’s especially true if Claire gives Victoria a nudge to make that happen.

Claire felt guilty about Victoria stepping down for her sake in the first place, so she may encourage her mom to get back to doing the work that she loves.

Victoria has been through a lot lately, including the fire that Jordan set at her house.

Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) faulty plan was partly the reason for that blaze, so he owes Victoria a bit of restitution.

It’s easy to imagine Victoria using that as part of a new pitch – one that could restore her power at Newman Enterprises.

Victoria might hope to fully reclaim the throne and take over for Victor while he concentrates on supporting Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Even if Victor remains in the big chair, Victoria could at least try to slide in Adam’s co-CEO spot and become co-CEO Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) new team player.

Whatever the case, Victoria and Adam’s sibling rivalry is bubbling up again, so predictions are forming about what’s ahead for these two.

Adam and Victoria’s next Newman Enterprises feud could be coming back around, which might bring Victoria’s wicked witch side back out to play!
