It’s been mere days since Lily found out that her ex-husband Daniel peaced out of their renewed romance in favor or reconciling with Heather, but Young & Restless fans already want to know which soap hunk will step in to fill his shoes. The answer is a no-brainer and will truly be a dream come true!

y finally returned from a prolonged trip to California to help her daughter Mattie through a tough time with the intention of surprising Daniel, but instead it was she who received a surprise — and not of the good and fun variety. Lily walked in on Daniel enjoying a meal with Lucy and Heather, and from the look on the attorney’s face, it was clear that something more than healthy co-parenting was going on.

Daniel soon confirmed Lily’s hunch and broke the news that he and Heather had reconciled in her absence. Adding insult to injury, he told her that a) her brother Devon knew about it, and b) he had never stopped loving his former partner.

After her intial confrontation with Devon at Chancellor-Winters, Lily leaned on her brother for support and questioned the meaning of her relationship with Daniel after all was said and done. She also made note of her run of bad luck in the romance department since the demise of her marriage to Cane, including her split from Billy, who, she discovered, may now be gunning for her job!

So, will her next love interest be a better prospect? Probably not given that this is a soap opera and we think it’s going to be a man who will eventually end up with someone else. But will it be fun? Heck ya!

Longtime viewers may recall a fantasy sequence years back in which Lily was the wife of a Newman — we’re not lying when we say that the chemistry shook fans. That’s why we say it may be a dream come true if the writers actually pair Lily and Nick now.

It’s a no-brainer given that viewers have been intrigued by the idea ever since that episode aired, and to help things along, for the first time in forever — or possibly ever — Nick and Lily are both single.

Nick, of course, is fresh out of a year-long relationship with Sally Spectra, who has since rekindled her love with his half-brother Adam, and Lily has just been, well… dumped.

We could easily see the two powerful (and hot!) execs running into one another in Neil’s jazz lounge or Crimson Lights and having a lot to talk about. Not only could they compare notes on their disappointments in the romance department, but they could discuss the pitfalls of working with family as well. As we all know, commisserating on a soap opera often turns into a whole lot more!
