The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Claire Grace’s (Hayley Erin) wild dream included some interesting changes to the Newman family – including a big one involving Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) love life.

When it became obvious to Claire that Nick and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) were a couple again in this dream scenario, she fished to find out how long they’d been back together.

Nick acted like it was a silly question since they’d been a couple since before “Eve” was born.

Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) was still alive in this dream version of events – meaning her demise never led to the breakdown of Nick and Sharon’s marriage.

Oddly enough, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) still existed in this dream, which didn’t make a lot of sense considering the loss of Cassie led to Nick’s affair with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

On social media, fans have been joking that maybe Sharon was Summer’s mother – at least in the alternate reality that Claire dreamed up!

Of course, Nick could’ve just had the Phyllis affair anyway, but the most reasonable explanation is we’re simply not supposed to overthink this since it was a wild dream anyway.

Regardless, seeing Sharon and Nick act all lovey-dovey was fun on some level.

You could argue that it’s better than nothing and appreciate the fact that Y&R’s throwing “Shick” fans a bone.

At the same time, it feels like these little Sharon and Nick reunion hints may never lead to the real thing.

There have been other times – like in Sharon’s own dream and at the Cassidy First Technology launch party – where it seemed like there were signs that Nick and Sharon might get their romance back on track.

However, we’re beginning to wonder if all the Sharon and Nick reunion clues are really just a way to appease fans of a popular couple of the past.

Does Y&R ever really have any intention of putting Nick and Sharon back together? Are Sharon and Nick fans getting cheated?

It’s obvious that the show doesn’t value Sharon Case like they should since she barely gets any airtime and rarely has a decent storyline.

Nick and Sharon’s reunion would be a good story for them both, but is it ever truly going to happen?

There may be more Sharon and Nick predictions along the way, but there’s no guarantee anything will come of all the seeds that have been planted.
