The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) is holding a grudge when it comes to Claire Grace’s (Hayley Erin) past mistakes, which means truly accepting her cousin will be a challenge.

Although Claire and Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) were both Jordan’s (Colleen Zenk) victims, Summer still holds Claire at fault for previously being in cahoots with her great-aunt.

Claire was a pawn in Jordan’s game, so she created a path for Jordan to wreak havoc in Genoa City.

Summer also isn’t convinced that Claire’s recovery will stick, so she’s determined to shut her out of Harrison’s life for his own safety.

Is there anything that might change Summer’s mind about Claire?

It’s possible Claire could come to Harrison’s rescue somehow down the road, but that might feel kind of repetitive since the kid’s already been in so much danger.

Furthermore, Summer is sensitive when it comes to Harrison and would probably just end up blaming Claire for letting the danger happen in the first place!

We’ve already seen Summer ranting about Claire being indirectly responsible for Harrison’s kidnapping, so maybe it’s better to just take Harrison off the table as a redemptive strategy.

A better option might be for Y&R to put Summer in a dangerous situation instead.

Jordan is still alive and could potentially escape from Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) dungeon, so that’s important to remember.

If Summer ultimately gets in Jordan’s way, could Claire land in the right place at the right time to save her?

If Claire risks her own life to rescue Summer and potentially gets injured in the process, that might help convince Summer that she’s got a good heart.

Of course, Summer could still blame Claire for her part in unleashing Jordan on GC, but it’d be hard for her to ignore Claire’s willingness to sacrifice herself to save her cousin.

Then again, maybe Y&R could deliver another situation that hasn’t nothing to do with Jordan – like a freak accident where Claire intervenes or something along those lines.

As long as Claire proves she’s willing to step up and save Summer, that could help change Summer’s opinion about the kind of person she is.

Our predictions point to Summer clinging to that grudge we mentioned for a while, but let’s hope for good news eventually!
