The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, March 20, reveals that Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) thought it’d be a mistake to accept a proposal if she didn’t mean it and felt Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) should appreciate that self-awareness.

Steffy argued that Hope wasn’t self-aware enough to realize she was toying with Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) emotions and insisted her behavior was selfish.

Any normal person would’ve set boundaries to avoid being with someone who was previously obsessed – at least that’s how Steffy felt about it.

Now Hope was leading Thomas on in this one-sided relationship, but Steffy thought that was over since she believed she got through to her brother.

Steffy insisted Thomas was done with Hope, but Hope argued that turning down his proposal didn’t mean ending their relationship.

After Hope defended her love for Thomas and pushed Stetfy to back off, she asked why Steffy insisted on interfering.

Steffy argued that she was protecting Thomas’ mental health and well-being, but Hope just wanted her to butt out.

If Hope truly loved Thomas like she claimed to, Steffy suggested she should leave him.

Hope refused, so Steffy decided Hope had gone “full Logan” and that she was acting exactly like Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang).

According to Steffy, Hope was throwing herself at a Forrester without caring who she hurt.

If Thomas hadn’t already decided to end things, Steffy insisted she would make sure he did.

As far as Steffy was concerned, Hope’s days of using and abusing Thomas were over.

In the design office on Wednesday’s B&B episode, Thomas pushed Brooke for an answer about how Hope really felt about him.

Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) interrupted and got updates on Hope’s latest marriage proposal rejection, so he comforted Thomas.

Thomas pointed out that Brooke never answered his question and expressed concern that he didn’t have a future with Hope after all.

The whole thing left Thomas wondering if he’d been deluding himself.

Steffy told Thomas to move on and build a life without Hope, so Brooke didn’t seem happy once Thomas shared how his sister told him to run.

Ridge thought Steffy was just being protective, but Brooke asked if Thomas really wanted Hope to accept a proposal when she wasn’t ready.

After Ridge requested a moment alone with his son, Brooke said she was sorry and that she didn’t know what to tell Thomas about Hope.

Once Brooke touched Thomas on the shoulder and left, Ridge told Thomas that he hated seeing him confused like this.

Thomas said maybe he wasn’t confused and that maybe Steffy was right.

Steffy had been telling Thomas for a long time that Hope didn’t want to commit and was just playing with his feelings.

It left Thomas wondering if Steffy had been right all along.

At Il Giardino, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) admitted he’d seen some apparent changes in Thomas, so Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) assured Liam that Thomas was a different man than he was before.

That said, Carter understood Liam’s fears about Thomas spinning out again if he lost Hope.

Liam suggested that it was a lose-lose situation since he felt Hope couldn’t possibly accept Thomas’ proposal, but rejecting it could lead to Thomas falling back into old habits.

Carter and Liam also worried about Hope provoking Steffy’s wrath.

If Thomas did end up feeling jilted, Liam said they’d just have to cross their fingers and hope Steffy reined her brother in.

Liam gushed over how Steffy commanded a room when she walked into it – and she did it beautifully.

Carter reminded Liam that Steffy was “very married,” so he was clearly looking out for Steffy and John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) relationship.
