Worried For John, Steve Seeks Out Marlena as the Former Pawn Demands the Truth From Konstantin

Thursday, March 14, 2024: Today on Days of Our Lives, John seeks answers, Harris doubts Ava, Maggie feels guilt over Konstantin, and Eli says goodbye to Julie.

After she sleeps on the couch, Ava brings a recuperating Harris breakfast in her bed. As they discuss Clyde’s escape, Harris deduces he had help. He wonders if Stefan had something to do with it. Ava laughs that idea off and playfully instructs him to take his meds.

In the Square, Eli and Julie catch up on the fire, the time capsule, and Paulina and Abe. Julie asks if there’s any chance he and Lani will move back to Salem. He explains that won’t be happening because of his promotion. She tears up with pride, but Eli’s the one who’s proud of how brave she’s been. Julie excitedly gets up so they can go tell Doug his news.

At a table in the Square, Eli leans in mid-word toward Julie.

As Maggie and Konstantin eat pastries in the Kiriakis living room, they discuss his daughter. He says he misses her more, not less as time goes on. Maggie commiserates over the loss of a child. She grows emotional as he clasps her hand. She’s grateful for his physical comfort, and for all the stories he’s told her about Victor and his daughter. He’s touched her heart. Konstantin cherishes their friendship. “I cherish you.”

Maggie tears up, feeling like she’s betraying Victor. Konstantin doesn’t think Victor would want her to continue in life without feeling cherished. Would Victor not want her to be happy? Later, he makes a cryptic comment about never forgetting something so foul that happened in the past.

At home, John and Marlena get ready to meet Eric. He tells her his nightmares are getting worse. She assumes saving Wendy and Tripp triggered bad memories. He doesn’t want to talk about it, so they head out.

As Ava helps Harris change his bandage, Steve calls. Ava keeps up a cheery façade as Steve orders her to meet him at his office in an hour. Hanging up, she tells Harris she’s going to see Tripp with Steve. Once she’s gone, Harris says aloud that he wants to trust Ava, but he knows she’s up to something.

At the Pub, Roman thanks Eric for helping with Lucas. When John and Marlena arrive, the foursome discusses Abe and Paulina’s good news, Jude’s Christening and John’s heroics with Tripp and Wendy. John sighs that he’s far from a hero. Steve strolls in to steal John for an hour or two.

As Maggie orders Paulina flowers, Julie and Eli return to the mansion. Julie proudly tells Maggie and Konstantin of Eli’s promotion which is sending him out of Salem today. Konstantin takes particular note of Eli’s FBI position working on international cases. Julie declares her grandson will rid the whole world of evil. Konstantin excuses himself to make a call to Greece.

After Ava stuns Steve and John at Black Patch by revealing Clyde and Goldman are a couple, they argue over Ava going rogue on the plan. John can’t believe they unleashed Clyde back into the world. Feeling attacked, Ava reminds the men they’ve all done really bad things. John stares off as if in a trance, repeating her words.

At the mansion, Eli says a final goodbye to Julie and Maggie before picking up Lani and the twins at the hospital. Despite the mansion overflowing with people, Julie says it’ll be an empty place without Eli and his family. Maggie knows what it’s like to be surrounded by people and still feel lonely.

At a table in the Pub, Marlena beams at Eric. He leans toward her, holding a coffee mug. Roman sits next to him.

At the Pub, Marlena asks Eric how Sloan is doing. Eric hesitates before encouraging Marlena to fill in a confused Roman about the night of their dinner party. Marlena defends Sloan getting drunk, but Eric admits he thinks she’s jealous of Jude. Eric knows he might be obsessed with his son, but he hates hearing him cry or being apart from him. Marlena understands that. Eric thanks Marlena and Roman for being amazing parents to him.

At Ava’s, a frustrated Harris talks on the phone with Rafe, who has no news on Clyde. He then tries to play solitaire, but gets antsy. He calls Stefan and leaves an angry message. If Stefan doesn’t call or find him, he won’t like what Harris does.

As John remains quiet at Black Patch, Ava declares no one can know what they did. Steve worries about her mob pals. Ava assures him she’s handling them. John hangs back as Steve and Ava leave for the hospital. John calls Konstantin.

When Konstantin arrives at the office, John says his life hasn’t been the same since they met in the park a few weeks ago. What the hell did you do to me? “It’s not what I did to you,” Konstantin growls. “It’s what you did to me.”

In the Square, Ava asks Steve about John checking out. Steve brushes it off. Ava sincerely thanks Steve for reviving Tripp. She knows he hates the way she handled things, but saving their son was the only thing on her mind. They agree to disagree on how things played out. Ava heads off to check on things at the house.

Ava comes home to find a single rose on the breakfast tray in her room, but no Harris. Meanwhile, Steve returns to the Pub to tell Marlena they need to talk about John in private.

At the mansion, Maggie confides in Julie how much she misses Victor and how guilty she feels for being drawn to Konstantin. Julie assures her there’s no shame in not wanting to be alone. Victor would give her his blessing because he would want her to be happy and to be loved.
