There must be something in the water. Or maybe it’s just that spring has finally sprung and the warm air has got folks feeling a bit friskier than normal. But first there was the Days of Our Lives fellas going bare for Playgirl, and now we’ve got a birthday boy celebrating in his birthday suit — who also happens to be a former Salemite! Actually, maybe we’ll amend that to: There must be something in Salem‘s water.

Then again, soap hunks showing some skin is a time honored tradition, from the heyday of the ’80s when The Bold and the Beautiful‘s Don Diamont (Bill) graced the cover of Playgirl to the ’90s when The Young and the Restless‘ Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm) was driving everyone absolutely wild. So the guys over at Days of Our Lives are all in excellent company.

Now, the last few times we’ve seen the birthday boy in question on Days of Our Lives, he’s been a murderous zombie, a shill for the devil and a bloodthirsty ghost/hallucination. And the character was about as horrible as it got when he was alive, too. In other words, this is definitely a pleasant step up! And yes, we know, when it comes to the Peacock sudser, that list of descriptions doesn’t exactly narrow things down much, but the man we’re talking about is Mike Manning, who played Ava’s sociopathic son, Charlie.

Manning celebrated his birthday this past Friday, then decided to thank everyone who wished him well with, we have to say, was certainly an eye-catching tweet over on Twitter/X.  “Thanks for all the birthday love,” he tweeted. “Sincerely, Me in my birthday suit.”

And yes, you can see for yourself by clicking here! And no, we didn’t get the full moon, but Manning did give us a cheeky moon teaser about a week earlier, which you can check out below.

What’s that? That’s not the right type of moon? Whoops, our bad! It was actually a cheeky tease for the eclipse that consumed much of the country earlier in the week. Clearly, Manning has a good-natured sense of humor that’s lightyears away from his psychotic Salem counterpart.

We suppose all that’s left at this point is to wish the birthday boy a belated happy birthday — and thank him for sharing so much of himself with the world!
