General Hospital Spoilers: Is Ava Manipulating Sonny with Hidden Agenda – Sneaky Jerome Can’t Be Trusted?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Ava Jerome (Maura West) has slowly positioned herself as perhaps the only person Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) can trust right now. We’ve seen Ava build on her connection with Sonny little by little and make herself someone he can lean on.

However, we can’t help but notice that Ava’s been laying it on a bit thick!

Ava’s behavior can come across somewhat manipulative at times, especially due to some of the acting choices Maura West has been making.

There are moments when West plays it like Ava has Sonny right where she wants him – like Ava’s got something to hide and feels like she’s winning at whatever game she’s playing.

It’s just a matter of figuring out what Ava’s hidden agenda might be and whether it’s going to blow up in her face.

Ava insisted on making herself part of Sonny’s fake summit with Selina Wu (Lydia Look), which Selina wasn’t happy about.

Selina noted that Sonny may trust Ava as the mother of his child, but she definitely didn’t share that same trust.

Of course, Ava was also quick to pipe up about how she believed Sonny’s good intentions regarding Karen Wexler (Marie Wilson), so that was another instance of her acting like she’s the only one in Sonny’s corner.

After Ava saw the footage of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), she also worked hard to convince Sonny that Jason must’ve turned against him.

Then, Ava pulled back and acted like Sonny’s judgment came first, so it honestly felt like she was playing him like a fiddle.

Ava planted major doubts about Jason and then backed off so Sonny would think she was less overbearing.

If Ava is indeed scheming to keep her position of trust, it makes sense that she’d want to influence Sonny while still making him think he’s in charge.

What is Ava really up to and why is she trying to keep Sonny isolated?

Ava seems a tad smug and even amused over her newfound confidant status, so it doesn’t appear to be a situation where she’s scared or being coerced by someone.

Maybe it’s as simple as Ava relishing this trust after years of Sonny casting her aside in the past.

Ava may like the way things are and want to keep this new dynamic in play for as long as possible.

There’s no denying that it benefits Ava when it comes to how often she sees Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola), so that may be part of Ava’s motivation when it comes to growing closer to Sonny as well.

Plus, Ava may rather be rather lonely and in need of her own comfort after so many romantic failures.

Perhaps Ava is genuinely falling for Sonny in the midst of all this, but Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) certainly isn’t going to approve if that’s the case.

Then again, Ava might have some far bigger agenda depending on what GH writers plan to reveal somewhere down the line.

All this trust talk may point to trouble if Ava can’t be trusted after all!
