Sister Wives’ Janelle and Kody Brown break silence on their son Garrison’s death and beg for ‘privacy’
SISTER Wives stars Janelle and Kody Brown have broken their silence following the sudden death of their son Garrison.
Janelle, 54, took to Instagram on Tuesday, shortly after the shocking news broke, to tell fans of their loss.
“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” Janelle wrote alongside two photos of Garrison.
“He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away.”
“We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory,” she concluded her short post.
Janelle chose two photos of Garrison, one of him in military uniform, and one of him smiling on a trip somewhere, wearing a backpack.
Kody, 55, shared the same photos and message on his own Instagram account.
Garrison, 25, died at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona, the Flagstaff Police Department told The U.S. Sun.
“It is with great sadness I confirm Mr. Robert Garrison Brown was located in his residence deceased, as a result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“On 03/05/2024 Flagstaff Police officers responded to a report of a death inside a home. Upon arrival officers met with a sibling, identified as “Gabe”, and discovered Mr. Brown deceased as a result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
The spokesperson added that there was no indication of foul play and “Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating.”
It was Janelle’s other son Gabriel, 22, who was the one that found Garrison when he went to his brother’s house.
In past years, Garrison has appeared on Sister Wives with his mom and her ex-husband, Kody, 55, that followed the polygamist relationship between Kody, Robyn, 45, Meri, 53, Christine, 51, and Janelle, and their large family.
The former couple got married spiritually in 1993 and then called it quits almost 30 years later in 2022.
Janelle and Kody have six kids together; they are Madison, 28, Logan, Hunter, 27 Savanah, 19, Gabriel, and the late Garrison.
Janelle’s fellow Sister Wife, Meri, also shared the same heartbreaking post about Garrison on Tuesday.
She ended her note, “Garrison, you are loved and will be missed!”
TRAGIC LAST POST
Garrison shared a sweet post to his Instagram five days before he died.
The star looked happy as he posed with a cat.
“Newest edition to my home, Ms Buttons. She’s 9 years old and was on the line for euthanasia but my savior complex couldn’t suffice,” he wrote in the caption.
As soon as fans heard the news, they flooded to Janelle’s Instagram page to comment their condolences on her recent post.
“So sorry for your loss I can’t imagine the pain you are going through. Praying for your family,” one said.
“Janelle I love you and your family and I’ m sending lots of love and prayer your way. Lost of hugs and positive vibes. You’re a great mother and you raised wonderful kids,” another mentioned.
“You did your absolute best and we all know how much you love your kids. My deepest condolences.”
“My heart is broken into 1000 pieces for you!!!” a third commented.
GARRISON’S RELATIONSHIP WITH KODY
In October 2023, Garrison shared a sad confession about his estranged father, Kody.
As documented in the recent season of the hit reality show, Garrison and Gabriel had apparently blocked all contact with their father after struggling to maintain their relationship with him since the Covid pandemic.
There was a major disagreement between Kody and Janelle’s household because of the strict safety rules the patriarch implemented.
“I’ve reached out to Garrison and Gabriel,” Kody claimed at one point.
“I reached out to them just before Christmas and I reached out to them after. No, they’re blocking me. They’re not interested in talking to me.”
‘DOESN’T CARE’
When it comes to the boys, Garrison put a lot of blame on his dad.
“Since I last talked to Dad, I bought a house, I’ve gotten into school and I got the car that I wanted – that he told me I should never get,” Garrison shared with Christine.
Christine has remained close to Janelle’s family since they both split from Kody.
Garrison added his father “doesn’t care to” know anything about their lives.
