Christopher Cousins has joined the cast of Y&R in the role of Alan Laurent, a psychiatrist Ashley knew when she lived in Paris.

During Ashley’s latest Paris trip to uncover the truth about her fight with Tucker, she sought out Alan in the aftermath.

Ashley told Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) that her psychiatrist friend helped her, but what if they weren’t always platonic?

It’s possible Alan is Ashley’s former flame if they hooked up or dated once upon a time.

Maybe Ashley and Alan simply ended their relationship on an amicable note that allows them to still have a friendship.

Whatever the case, it looks like Alan Laurent will ultimately come to town and give Ashley some support starting April 30.

Alan will be around for multiple episodes, so the show might bring him back for even more if fans have a positive response.
