Anna Devane’s Rocky Start with John “Jagger” Cates on General Hospital
Recently, on GH, John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) came back to Port Charles after 30 years. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was one of the first people he encountered. and he did not get a good first impression of her. Jagger is an FBI agent and was going after the man selling stolen weapons.
Anna and her bestie Deputy Mayor Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper), were also after this man and they ruined the FBI investigation. Of course, Jagger was livid. But then, things got worse when he realized that she was also a friend of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Indeed, Jagger has a bad history with Sonny that goes back decades on General Hospital. He believes that Sonny exploited his late ex-wife, Karen Wexler (Marie Wilson), and his brother, Michael “Stone” Cates (Michael Sutton).
Plus, Jagger hates that Sonny has been getting away with his crimes for years. So, he wants to take the kingpin down. And now, that is something that he and Anna have in common now that her eyes are open to who Sonny really is. And recently, she got much closer to Jagger.
Jagger Connects with Anna on GH
Recently, on General Hospital, Anna’s perception of Sonny changed. Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) came into her office to confess that he almost killed Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) on Sonny’s orders.
No doubt, Anna could see Dex’s remorse. Also, he didn’t have any proof to back up his claims that Sonny ordered him to kill Cyrus. So, she told him to pretend that their conversation never happened on General Hospital.
On his way out, Dex told Anna that if she ever needs help taking Sonny down, count him in. After that, Anna saw Sonny more clearly. So, she felt the need to share her epiphany with Jagger and apologize to him.
They had drinks at his suite at the Metro Court Hotel and they bonded. Anna opened up about the guilt she felt because Sonny was there for her daughter, Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough), when she was MIA.
And Jagger confided in her about his brother, Stone, and the role Sonny played in his life. No doubt, things took a turn with them. They have a newfound respect for each other and they’re a little closer now. And their new bond may only deepen as time goes on.
General Hospital Prediction: New Super-Couple Ahead?
Indeed, it was clear that Anna impressed Jagger — both as the PCPD Commissioner and, as a person. And of course, it doesn’t hurt that she’s gorgeous. So, he may soon find himself attracted to her.
And the more time they spend together, the more she may be drawn to him as well. No doubt, they have chemistry and seem to click on General Hospital. And soon, they may cross the line from professional to personal.
